- Assess all information to adequately integrate in the construction process.
- Produce computer-aided technical drawings.
- Produce cost estimates.
- Offer solutions when technical challenges arise.
- Assists colleagues (draftspersons, sales representatives, appraisers, project and production managers.
- Perform structural component calculations (trusses, beams, walls, beams, columns).
- Determine precise angle for connection or repair of wooden component structures.
- Go on construction site.
- Perform appraisals.
- Review project before hand and follow up with techniciansCollaborate with everyone involved in project.
- Train new wood structure technicians.
You are a perfect fit for the job
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering pertaining to wood components and structure building.
- Be a member of OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec) or about to be.
- Experience as wood structure technician (an asset).
- Know actual construction norms and standards.
- Have computer skills.
- Have wooden structural components design and manufacturing work experience.
- Show honesty and integrity.
- Be a true engineer.
- Capable of critical thinking and analysis.
- Manage several projects simultaneously.
