As appraiser
- Prepare cost estimates and present customers with precise quotes with the help of price laits and software.
- Determine the exact cost of the whole structure to be built or its envelope.
- Assess project feasibility.
- Modify or update cost estimates previously established.
- Perform or ask for required analysis for specific types of beams or roof trusses.
- Perform structural components calculation (beams, lintels, beams, half-timbering, etc.
- Make sure the quote respects the customer’s needs and Structures RBR standards.
- Work with project managers if changes are to be made or if any question arises.
- Answer all questions technicians may have about cost estimates, loads,etc.
- Email cost estimates to customers.
- In the cases of major quotes, talk with the manager and ask for approval.
As project manager
- Have complete understanding of contracts, plans and project specifications.
- Prepare all necessary documents for a complete overview.
- Communicate with client to obtain all necessary information.
- Plan project meetings when needed.
- Identify all that might alter project advancement (material, time frame, etc.)
- Take part to on site meetings when required.
- Make certain all necessary specifications and information appear on project documents.
- Make sure schedule is respected (drawings,production, buying,materials).
- Answer all questions technicians may have.
- Create data sheet and make available when required.
- Keep sight of project as it progresses.
- Make drawings available to client for approval.
- Organize delivery according to on site progression.
- Manage additional costs according to manager’s specifications.
- Manage all changes that might occur and make sure information is transmitted accordingly.
- Determine gap between cost estimate and actual cost.
- Plan project post mortem meeting if needed.

- Have completed appropriate training for job.
- Minimum 3 year experience in a similar job.
- Good 3D skills.
- Know wooden building components.
- Know wood grain and sizes.
